Why is Elizabeth Arden so popular?

Since the brand’s founding, they have offered innovative skincare products that combine both science and nature, with results proven through careful testing in the company’s own labs. It’s no secret that the most famous product in Arden’s line is the 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant balm, a beauty product that has been a favourite on the Estonian market and beyond for 90 years. It’s a firm favourite among Estonian customers too!
Today this multi-purpose balm has proven so popular that lighter versions of the same cream have also been brought to market, many of them available in Estonia as well. So everyone should be able to find one that suits them, because there’s plenty of reason to trust the brand.
The world-famous Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour moisturising hand cream can be used to moisturise everything from chapped, wind-cracked lips and hands to rough heels, and you can happily throw it in your bag for summer too, since it soothes and hydrates skin that’s been irritated or damaged by the sun. Our climate is quite cold and dry in winter, so it suits Estonian customers very well.

The effective ingredients of the famous cream

  • Petrolatum, a universally recognised moisturiser that protects the skin while providing intense soothing and deep hydration.
  • Salicylic acid, also known as beta hydroxy acid, was also discovered by Elizabeth Arden more than 90 years ago. Salicylic acid exfoliates dead cells from the skin, improving its texture.
  • Vitamin E. Works as an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from free radicals. Vitamin E also improves skin texture and is known for its soothing properties.

According to beauty experts, the biggest advantage of oils over creams is that the active ingredients are in concentrated form, meaning they aren’t diluted. That means a concentrated product always delivers a faster, more effective result, and the oil also absorbs quickly into the upper layers of the epidermis, immediately boosting the skin’s lipid barrier, so the effect on skin health is instant.
For example, the Elizabeth Arden oil – Eight Hour All Over Miracle Oil – contains a high concentration of precious camellia oil, which in turn is rich in omega 6 and 9 fatty acids that nourish, soothe, and protect the skin.
This miracle oil can also be applied to facial skin, as it contains a number of beneficial ingredients that ease irritation, strengthen the skin’s barrier, reduce redness, and maintain the skin’s moisture balance.

Skin needs hydration every day!

Moisturising the skin is often treated as an afterthought, but it should really be done every day, and depending on skin type or need, sometimes several times a day. Skin is our largest protective organ, and it cannot stay strong and vital without proper care. Most Estonian women and men know that this is especially important in our climate! Regardless of the season, skincare should focus on rich hydration.
Moisturise your face and skin morning and evening after cleansing. Use an exfoliating cream once a week to remove dead skin cells. In the shower, wash with a moisturising shower gel. Before drying off, apply Elizabeth Arden cream to damp skin. The best time to moisturise is right after a shower, once dead skin cells have been washed away and the skin is ready to absorb all the cream’s valuable ingredients.

The famous Green Tea line

The famous Green Tea perfume, created in 1990, became so popular around the world and in Estonia that a matching, equally refreshing-scented body care line was also brought to market, including creams, body scrubs, and deodorants. One of the most beloved products in the line, cherished by women all over the world, is the refreshing Elizabeth Arden body cream Green Tea. This Elizabeth Arden product, sold on the Estonian market, has held its own against the competition for decades, which shows just how much people love it.
It’s a body lotion containing plant oils and natural moisturising ingredients that protect the skin, retain its moisture, and instantly make it silkier. As a bonus, the body cream shares the same perfume essences as the famous Green Tea fragrance, so it leaves both your skin and the air around you smelling wonderful!
If you want that wonderful scent to stay with you all day, know that the most effective result comes from also spritzing on the Green Tea perfume!

The Green Tea refreshing body cream’s aromatic bouquet includes

  • Lemon – adding lemon oil to cosmetic creams, massage oils, or plant oils improves problem skin, lightens pigmentation spots, improves complexion, and helps reduce visible capillaries. Lemon oil makes it easier to adapt to new situations and people, strengthens zest for life, and encourages creative work, including within the family, while also helping to prevent difficult situations.
  • Jasmine oil – is one of the most expensive essential oils in the world and one of the main plants used in perfumery. Jasmine oil is known as a creator of positive feelings and a mood booster. Its effect is deeply relaxing, and it helps reduce anger, anxiety, low mood, and indifference. It creates a confident and optimistic feeling.
  • Peppermint oil – peppermint oil’s refreshing properties reportedly make it one of the best remedies for easing restlessness – it reduces nervous tension, stress, and headaches. Peppermint oil is credited with refreshing, antiseptic, and pain-relieving effects.

Gold in a jar – the Ceramide Capsules serum

The Elizabeth Arden rejuvenating serum Ceramide Capsules, launched in 1990 with its silky formula, has become a product hundreds of thousands of women, including many Estonian women, can no longer imagine life without! Just one small capsule gives your face, neck, and décolletage lasting youthfulness!
Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules serum is a concentrated formula in serum capsules for the face, neck, and décolletage that restores the skin’s natural ceramide levels, improving skin texture and making it more elastic, smoother, and more youthful. Their dermatology consultant Dr Dendy Engelman suggests imagining your skin as a brick wall to better understand how ceramides work.
“Skin cells are like bricks, while ceramides and other lipids act as the cement holding them together. When skin loses its ability to replenish its ceramide reserves, the skin cells are no longer held together tightly enough, and as a result the skin is no longer firm and clear, but appears dry and dull,” Engelman explains.
Did you know: ceramide levels start to decline rapidly with age: by your 30s, you’ve lost about 40% of them, and by age 40, more than 60%. A shortage of these vital lipids makes skin dry and dull and can cause wrinkles, uneven skin texture, and reduced elasticity.

The fascinating ingredients of the Ceramide Capsules facial serum

  • Camellia oil – known as an effective, multi-purpose moisturiser. Camellia oil has been used for centuries by Asian women to nourish skin and hair. It contains vitamins A, B, C, E, and polyphenol compounds, natural antioxidants that protect the skin from environmental damage and the harmful effects of free radicals. Camellia oil helps reduce fine lines, acne scars, and the appearance of pores.
  • Ceramides – ceramides could be considered our secret to youth and beauty, since these fine components reduce fine lines and wrinkles, support the skin’s natural collagen levels, and firm the skin. They also improve and brighten skin tone and renew skin texture. They also have a revitalising effect, noticeably making skin more even, softer, and healthier. Ceramides make up about 20% of the substance between skin cells and support skin function, making the skin look younger.
  • Coconut oil – high in vitamin E and protein, with a great capacity to retain moisture. Vitamin E fights signs of ageing, keeps skin soft, and protects against cracking. Thanks to its antioxidant content, coconut oil also works against wrinkles and rejuvenates the skin.

Who was Elizabeth Arden?

Arden’s success story began in an era when it wasn’t considered proper for women to wear makeup – that was seen as the domain of prostitutes, actresses, and showgirls. Back then, face cream was even used for medicinal purposes and bought from pharmacies. The world of beauty changed direction when the determined Florence Nightingale Graham (her birth name) opened the doors of a beauty salon on Fifth Avenue in New York in 1910.
She named it Red Door and painted the door itself bright red, so the salon would stand out from the street. The inside of the salon was no less eye-catching – behind the red doors was a thoroughly feminine pink interior, which at the time tempted many passers-by to step inside.
Arden wanted to share the secrets of the art of makeup with all American women, and shortly after opening the salon she travelled to the beauty and fashion capital, Paris, with the idea of creating her own line of rouges and tinted powders. As a fierce advocate for women’s rights, she soon marched down that same Fifth Avenue with 15,000 like-minded supporters, all wearing bright red lipstick as a symbol of strength and power.
Since makeup at the time was worn mainly by prostitutes rather than “respectable” women, Arden launched a marketing campaign to change public opinion about decorative cosmetics. Thanks in part to this – and to the close-up shot becoming popular in the world of film – makeup gradually came to be accepted.
In 1934, Arden transformed her summer home in Maine into a spa, introducing America to the spa concept and offering her clients a programme for maintaining youthfulness that combined exercise, diet, and skincare.
