Clinique Clarifying Lotion 1 is a 400 ml mild exfoliating lotion for very dry to dry skin. It sweeps away dulling flakes, dirt and pollution from the surface to reveal smoother, clearer skin.

What is Clinique Clarifying Lotion 1?

Clinique calls it a mild liquid exfoliator that prepares skin for moisturiser. Exfoliated skin is more receptive to moisturisers and other treatments. The dermatologist-developed formula is made for dry skin, where surface flakes can block moisture from sinking in. Clinique says that used twice a day, the lotion helps remove the flakes that build up on the surface, and fine dry lines can become less visible.

Formula and texture

The lotion is a light liquid that spreads evenly on a cotton pad and leaves skin feeling fresh and clean. The formula contains glycerin and witch hazel, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate, which help skin stay soft. It also contains salicylic acid and acetyl glucosamine, which help lift away dead skin cells. Clinique states that the lotion is fragrance free and oil free and contains no parabens or phthalates. The lotion is step two of Clinique’s three-step routine: cleanse, exfoliate, moisturise.
