Tigi Catwalk – three conditioners, three different jobs

Tigi Catwalk is a Tigi hair care line, and three of its conditioners are in stock in our shop, each in a 250 ml pack. Fashionista Violet is a silver conditioner for blondes, Fashionista Brunette is for the warm tones of brunettes and Oatmeal & Honey Nourishing is a nourishing conditioner for dry, damaged hair. They are not interchangeable, because each deals with a different concern. Here is what each of them does and how to use it.

Fashionista Violet

The Tigi Catwalk Fashionista Violet is a brightening hydrator designed to banish brass from cool-toned hair. Its complex contains violet, pearl extract and rice milk. It boosts the brightness of blonde hair, adds shine, softens, nourishes and helps detangle, and it reduces brassy and yellow tones. The formula is sulphate-free. Violet sits opposite yellow on the colour wheel, which is why a violet tint evens out a yellowish cast, and as a hydrator the conditioner moisturises at the same time.

Violet suits blonde, highlighted, light and grey hair. After use the colour feels fresher and more luminous, with plenty of shine.

Wash with the matching Fashionista Violet shampoo, then apply the conditioner to wet hair and rinse thoroughly. Use it on every wash, or leave it on for up to ten minutes for a stronger colour effect.

Fashionista Brunette

The Tigi Catwalk Fashionista Brunette belongs to the Fashionista range for warm tones. Aminoshield technology and rich coconut and almond oils help revive radiance and protect hair from damage and breakage. The hair looks glossy and carries a light, sweet caramel toffee scent.

The conditioner is designed to intensify brunettes. Its colour-safe formula is made for warm-toned brunettes and helps protect warm tones from fading, so it also suits coloured dark hair. Almond oil, coconut oil and oleic acid are the ingredient highlights. The conditioner helps protect warm tones from fading; Aminoshield and the oils protect from damage and breakage.

Apply it to clean wet hair, leave it on for one to ten minutes and rinse.

Oatmeal & Honey Nourishing

The Tigi Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey Nourishing is a refortifying treatment for dry, damaged hair that smooths and hydrates. Wheat proteins with lactic acid target weak areas, vitamin E hydrates and acts as an antioxidant, and coconut oil smooths for a soft, bouncy finish.

The pack is marked colour safe, so it suits coloured hair of any shade. After shampooing, work it through the ends and rinse.

The three side by side

  • Tone. Violet works on cool tones (brass and yellow), Brunette on warm tones, and Oatmeal & Honey does not change tone.
  • Colour safety. Brunette and Oatmeal & Honey are colour safe.
  • Main job. Violet brightens blonde, Brunette revives radiance and protects from damage and breakage, Oatmeal & Honey smooths, hydrates and strengthens weak areas.
  • Time on the hair. Violet on every wash or up to ten minutes, Brunette one to ten minutes, Oatmeal & Honey worked through the ends and rinsed.
  • Scent. Brunette has a light, sweet caramel toffee scent.

So: brassy blonde, highlighted or grey hair takes Violet, dark hair with a warm tone takes Brunette, and dry, damaged hair of any shade takes Oatmeal & Honey.

A routine for each

Blonde. Shampoo with a violet shampoo, such as the Fashionista Violet shampoo or the Wella Invigo Blonde Recharge shampoo, a purple shampoo with violet pigments and vitamin E that neutralises brassiness, hydrates and has a floral fragrance: apply to wet hair, lather and leave for three to five minutes. Then Violet on wet hair, rinsed or left for up to ten minutes.

Brunette. For dark coloured hair the ColorMotion+ shampoo cleanses deeply and, together with the line, helps keep colour vibrant for up to eight weeks. Follow with Brunette for one to ten minutes.

Dry hair. Shampoo, then Oatmeal & Honey worked through the ends and rinsed. For deeper care, see the masks below.

When a conditioner is not enough

The conditioner is a step after shampoo, not a replacement for a mask. The Nutri-Enrich mask is deeply nourishing for dry and stressed hair, with vitamin E, oleic acid and panthenol: apply it to clean damp lengths and ends for five minutes and rinse. For thick coloured hair the Color Brilliance mask for coarse hair also stays on for five minutes, detangles and enhances colour vibrancy.

Tigi conditioner or Wella colour care conditioner?

They answer different questions. The Tigi conditioners are organised by shade: cool blonde or warm brunette. Wella’s colour-care conditioners are organised by hair thickness and treatment: Color Brilliance for fine and normal hair and for coarse hair (jasmine, honey and bergamot scent, one to two minutes) and the ColorMotion+ conditioner, which hydrates, locks in colour vibrancy and protects from fading and environmental damage; it contains antioxidants and the Hair Surface Polisher. Both Color Brilliance conditioners contain Lime Caviar and Metal Purifier, instantly detangle and add shine. If brassiness is the problem, choose Tigi Violet; if you want colour protection whichever way the shade leans, choose Wella.

Finishing and tools

The Oil Reflections Light Luminous Oil finishes fine to medium hair: one to three pumps on towel-dried lengths and ends give shine without a greasy residue. A Tangle Teezer brush detangles and an Invisibobble spiral ties the hair back.
