Use in aromatherapy:
Peppermint has a refreshing, anti-stress effect and gives you renewed energy. Use it to scent rooms, in an oil burner, or for massage, mixed into a carrier oil of your choice.
Please note: use peppermint essential oil in small amounts, as the menthol it contains has a strongly cooling effect.
Peppermint helps with all acute digestive ailments. It has a beneficial effect on the function of the stomach, kidneys and intestines. Thanks to its antiseptic action, it relaxes the smooth muscles of the stomach and intestines and relieves stomach pain, bloating, diarrhoea, indigestion, bad breath, gallstones and vomiting.
Peppermint is also widely used for respiratory ailments, to relieve headaches and cold symptoms, to stimulate circulation and to improve memory.
HANDY TIP: If you sometimes find it hard to focus on one particular thing and your mind keeps being disturbed by irrelevant thoughts, mix together a synergistic blend – 3 drops of basil oil, 3 drops of black pepper essential oil and 3 drops of peppermint essential oil. This blend improves brain metabolism, increases alertness and fights mental fatigue. Diffuse the blend into the air using an aroma diffuser. If you don’t have a diffuser, you can also sprinkle the blend onto a napkin and place it on a radiator. The warmth will disperse the oils into the air.
In skincare, it’s added to creams, soaps and shampoos – it has a cooling effect. Stimulates hair growth, adds shine, prevents dandruff. Also good to use in the sauna, in body scrubs or sauna whisks.
Safety: Do not use essential oils undiluted. Pregnant women and young children should use essential oils with extreme caution. Keep essential oils out of reach of children.
